Queensland … Beautiful one day, over fifty the next!
No doubt many of you remember playwright David Williamsons’ ‘Travelling North’.
Well, some of your FiftyUp Club team and I did exactly that this week, we flew to Queensland to spread the word, and did we get a heroes welcome.
The reason for the trip was to launch the Power Price Petition calling on the Queensland Government to ensure any asset sales don’t lead to further price increases for older Australians.
It became obvious fairly quickly that Queenslanders are right behind the FiftyUp Club and what we stand for.
Both channels Nine and Seven sent reporters out to interview me.
Then we headed to top rating radio station 4BC, who have come on board as our partners to promote FiftyUp Club.
I spent a delightful session on air with afternoon show presenters Michael Price and Claire Blake.
They couldn’t have been more supportive. Acknowledging our large presence in both New South Wales and Queensland, and within minutes our numbers started jumping in the hundreds to well over 81,000 members.
It became patently obvious that with growth like that we will be the elephant in the room that corporate Australia can no longer take for granted, underestimate or ignore.
We FiftyUps are Australia’s best customers.
And as our numbers continue to increase we will further strengthen the buying power of our members to get group discounts and negotiate special offers and services.
We now have an electricity offer and an exclusive Life Insurance offer for Queenslanders, and we have private health insurance firmly in our sights for the Sunshine State.
Corporate Australia is starting to catch on that 1 in 3 Australians are 50 and over, that we have more than 50% of Australias’ household wealth, in other words national household buying power, not to mention we are a lower risk than younger demographics and we are more loyal.
To all of our new Queensland members welcome aboard. We will keep you updated with our latest discounted offers and so will our friends at 4BC.
Ah, Queensland … Beautiful one day, over fifty the next!
Please encourage your friends and family to sign up obligation free to grow our numbers and we will continue to deliver the better deals and offers that FiftyUps deserve.
My Warmest Regards,
John
PS As much as I love you Queensland, I’m still going for the Blues in the State of Origin!
