NEW CAMPAIGN TO HELP OVER 50s GET THE INSURANCE OFFERS THEY DESERVE

Australia’s biggest consumer club for the over-50s is today launching a campaign to source exclusive insurance offers for the industry’s best customers - mature Australians.

The MA50+ campaign aims to use the combined buying power of 20,000 consumers aged over 50 to negotiate discounted home & contents and car insurance offers.

Independent actuarial analysis by Finity Consulting shows average car insurance premiums halve from age 30 to age 65, because older drivers are better risks.

But most over-50s do not see the benefit of this trend because they remain loyal to their providers, and are therefore missing out on hundreds of dollars in savings.

Meanwhile, in the last five years, building insurance premiums have increased by 85% compared to an increase in the CPI of 12% and wages of 16.5%.

The MA50+ campaign aims to:

  • Sign up 20,000 consumers aged over 50 in the next 4 weeks
  • Use their collective buying power to source special insurance offers, and
  • Get 1000s of Over-50s the insurance premiums they deserve

FiftyUp Club’s Christopher Zinn is launching MA50+ on national TV & radio this morning.

“Over-50s are the insurance industry’s favourite customers. They’re safer, more loyal and they pay on time, it’s about time they were rewarded for this.

“MA50+ is a chance for FiftyUps to come together and use their collective buying power to deliver some real cost of living relief. We want 20,000 FiftyUps to join and send a clear message to the insurance industry – it’s time FiftyUps got what they deserved”.

Joining MA50+ is entirely cost and obligation-free. Consumers can sign up at www.FiftyUpClub.com.au. Registration closes at midnight on 4 March 2016.

Details of case study FiftyUps who are feeling the effects of unaffordable insurance and have joined the campaign, are available for media outlets on request.

My contents insurance (contents only, not home insurance) renewal is due next week. Can FiftyUp Club obtain for me a better offer of cover through a group-discounted offer? I am able to provide contact details and details of current cover and renewal account offline. I look forward to receiving your response. With thanks, Regards, Anonymous Victoria

It would be great if we over-50's could get well deserved home & contents insurance discounts while also retaining the ability to reasonably tailor excess amounts to suit the individual circumstances and reduce premiums accordingly. It needs to be reliable insurers who will still be around if it comes to making a claim. Tony @ Baulkham Hills NSW

It has been noticed that insurance companies cover postcodes - not suburbs or localities. A postcode runs a risk, therefore so does the entire area covered by that postcode. It seems Head Offices are in capital cities with staff who haven't a clue what post codes cover what areas.
