Suddenly An Everyday Carer
This week on the Fiftyup Radio Show I had the pleasure of speaking to Rachel James who is a full time carer for her daughter Emily. Here's Rachel's story...My family experienced catastrophic trauma when our eldest daughter, Emily, fell whilst snowboarding in America. She broke her neck rendering her quadriplegic and I suddenly became an everyday carer in my own home.
You can’t go through this experience and come out the same person, change happens.
I write about :
Everyday Caring in the home
Following Emily’s accident I joined the 2.6 million unpaid carers in Australia. I am now part of these statistics but I am not a number. I strive to be myself and write to facilitate health, fitness and wellbeing through everyday caring.
I share Winston Churchill’s attitude – “Never, never, never give up”
