Secondly, Rose here from eOne Films contacted us about a new film they are releasing. Lee Tamahori’s latest film MAHANA will be released on December 8 and Rose has given us 10 double passes to our Sydney and Melbourne based members. Seen through the eyes of a Maori teen on the brink of manhood, MAHANA is a sweeping family story, exploring and challenging three generations and uncovering a history of family secrets. The film was adapted from THE WHALE RIDER author Witi Ihimaera’s most personal novel, Bulibasha: King of the Gypsies and was made by the same team behind ONCE WE WERE WARRIORS. MAHANA was screened at the Sydney Film Festival in June and was released in New Zealand earlier. The passes can be used in-season at Dendy Newtown in Sydney and Cinema Nova in Melbourne.
