PEOPLE POWER CAMPAIGN SUCCEEDS IN UNLOCKING DISCOUNTED ENERGY, INSURANCE AND TELCO OFFERS FOR OVER-50s

The Fair Go for FiftyUps campaign has succeeded in unlocking big group discounts on Electricity and Gas, Home and Car insurance as well as Mobile Telco for over-50s.
The campaign was launched with the Today Show to unlock big discounts for over-50s. The offers are available for a limited time and are exclusive to people who join the FiftyUp Club.

The Fair Go for FiftyUps campaign aimed to push the membership of the FiftyUp Club to 250,000 to make the group irresistible to Australian businesses. It exceeded this number.

The energy offers are from Click Energy and Powershop. Discounts and details vary across states. For average households, they offer potential savings of up to:

  • $850 in New South Wales (electricity and gas),
  • $836 in Victoria (electricity and gas),
  • $264 in Queensland (electricity only) and
  • $379 in South Australia (electricity only)

These offers are complimented by new Home and Car Insurance offers made available through Woolworths Insurance* and a mobile plan offer available from True Blue Telco. The Fair Go for FiftyUps campaign surveyed members and found 1 in 4 have never shopped around on these bills. Savings in the hundreds are possible for these members. The FiftyUp Club encourages registrants to use these offers to either switch and save or to use them to negotiate a better offer with their own or an alternative provider.

FiftyUps are Australia’s best customers. They now have the opportunity to take control back over their household bills and make sure they’re getting the offers they deserve.
FiftyUp Club Director of Campaigns; Christopher Zinn has commented on the brand new offers and the success of the campaign today:

“The Fair Go for FiftyUps campaign has been a huge success. Harnessing the buying power of over a quarter of a million of Australia’s best customers  is a serious achievement.

“I’d encourage everyone to arm themselves with these offers and see what they can do”.

Joining the FiftyUp Club is entirely cost and obligation free at www.FiftyUpClub.com.au.

*Woolworths Insurance is issued by The Hollard Insurance Company Pty Ltd.

I live in Cairns Queensland which is serviced by Ergon Energy who have no one to compete with so we have to pay whatever they charge. It went up again recently. I'd like to know if there is another provider who would consider moving into North Queensland to give Ergon Energy some competition.

I think this is agreat idea although a shame that Queenslanders don't get the same benefits as other states when the other states are already cheaper for their power and other utilities. Its a shame costs aren't the same nationally.

Well done now we have less stress or worry knowing someone out there is looking after us finally. We have worked hard enough & need to know how financial free we can be to be able to enjoy our lives at last. Thanks to all for this website!
