Age of entitlement for CURRENT younger generation should ease off or end. But please look after the people who have worked all their lives.... I am 58, worked part time when at school, & got full tiime job 2 weeks after leaving school. I hope the government remembers who worked hard to make the country what it is.... we didn't have compulsory Super until the 80's... so this is the generation & older, who still need to be supported. 

At almost 70 years of age, I think I will just flee this country if the government chooses to further discriminate against aged pensioners who have worked for most of their lives and have PAID the taxes that currently go to people who have never paid taxes in Australia. When Centrelink make it so VERY difficult for us oldies to even try to work, with all their conditions etc. it is just about impossible. I obtained an ABN in the hope that I could try to make some extra money by working for myself, but no, Centrelink had to make the conditions so very tough, that the stress involved with dealing with Centrelink in the area where I live where there is a HUGE percentage of generational welfare bludgers, made it impossible to even think about. This leaves me with no alternative than to disappear to a Blue Zone!!! You have failed the taxpaying Australians. 

I agree with Glenda. Pollies should lead by example and look at the lerks and perks they enjoy. I work in the mining industry and we do a breath test before we start work every day and I believe the pollies should have 0.000 level as they make decisions that effect our lives and not have cheap dining room alcohol. 

I agree with Glenda .Apart from that the age of entitlement has always been a myth for me as the bastards have always found some way for me NOT, to get what everyone else seems to regards as an entitlement. When I apply they say no that is no longer available to you, or your age group don't qualify. Just another Government non fulfilment of promises. 

Maybe pollies pay and conditions should too be subject to the "end of entitlement". It's so easy talking about others - look at yourselves and all the perks 

Governments try make themselves look good with regards to having done their 'best' to bring the budget back to surplus. But in the meantime people in genuine hardship are suffering. Bludgers can get stuffed. Youth of working age should be working. There are jobs out there. Baby bonus shd be scrapped and maternity leave paid for one month only. If you want a child SAVE. I DID. I strongly feel that if the government did not tax the savings of retirees or when a person reached 55 years and was planning to be self funded retiree, a lot of the elderly will be self funded. Assistance should be given only to Australian citizens. NZ go home. Australians are known overseas as a bunch of dole bludgers who sit around all days and drink and smoke pot, play the pokies and have babies with anyone they fancy for the baby bonus. QUITE EMBARRASSING.. when a lot of honest people work for their money including me. 

I have been on a disable pension for over 20 years. I am now 70. When my wife worked full time my pension was $7.47 a fortnight. Glad I don't smoke, gamble or drink. It was so depressing to see my kids work to pay for their higher education and to rely and one in come from my wife. But we got through it, just like so many others. I bet the politicians would not be able to do it Its amazing how many ways my wife cooked sausages and mince. It was cheaper then, about the only meat that was. Then there was the yellow potatoes, (Pumpkin and potato mixed)

AS Australians I believe all Governments are 'servants' to the people because they pay their salaries. Re the age pension, I wouldn't mind getting the same pension our politicians get when they retire after only serving one or two terms in office. Is this still not a democracy? 

Why should the Gov., (tax payer) have to bail out a company where the profits go overseas? Do you see any politician reducing their wages or perks? What is the fastest bill to pass through Gov.? Answer Politicians wages and/or perks. Come on you politicians, show some guts and show some leader ship.
