Happy Birthday to Mary, the 90yo skydiver!
A daring granny has celebrated her upcoming 90th birthday mid-air, by skydiving with her two granddaughters to mark the occasion.
Mary Phillips kept her cool as she put on her parachute, and even when she jumped.
When she finally landed, the Brisbane woman, who turned 90 on Tuesday, was still unfazed by the entire situation.
While she and her granddaughters were keen to get their adrenaline pumping, Mary's children were not as interested. 'There's not enough money on the planet to get me up in that plane,' her son in law Gareth joked.
'All of a sudden you're out there, and there's nothing underneath you,' she laughed. Mary’s instructor made sure she had a gentle touch-down on the sand.
Mary's daughter Bev was also disinterested in thrill seeking, but joked she would reconsider when she made it to 90.
Though she has her feet on solid ground again for now, her son-in-law suggested it may not be the last time Mary flies.
'She's stunning, absolutely stunning - she'd probably do it again given the chance,' he said.
