We are proud to announce that we were able to unlock BIG DISCOUNTED energy offers because of you and the combined people power of over 20.000 FiftyUp Club members!

This year, skyrocketing energy prices have been a hot topic in the news. And it’s apparent that consumers are incredibly frustrated with the current cost of energy.

We think your frustration is justified, especially since Malcolm Turnbull explained last week, that over two million Australians are paying too much for energy!

Many news articles are advising consumers to take matters into your own hands by shopping around and switching providers at least once a year. This is where we want to help.

Our campaign offers you a quick and easy solution by helping you switch providers with just a few clicks. The special offers are only available for a limited time so be sure to shop around and switch as soon as possible!

Just a suggestion to anyone thinking of taking the Click Energy offer. I've been comparing it with another company I'm considering and Click Energy's usage charges are 10.3 cents per kWh higher. So I definitely suggest checking the "rates" as well as the discounts.

Honestly, with all these super money saving offers do not forget you can also raise a little cash by selling your teeth to the tooth fairy. You do not need to be a mental giant to be very suspicious of many 'you beaut' offers. Anyone over the age of 15 who has worked in retail would, without hesitation, realize you can not stay in business by purchasing an item for $100, price it at $200 and give a 37% discount, leaving you $26 profit to cover the many, many costs of running a business. If however you priced the item costing $100 at $340 you could offer a $37% discount. Although we have absolutely no idea as to the true cost of supplying electricity one should be wary of offers that common sense tells you is too good to be true. You can add to the list of offers worth very close scrutiny before parting with your money, any company that can afford to make and run expensive TV ads and suggests you can get 2 for the price of one with accompanying fish knives, and those who advertise on radio and confer upon themselves titles such as 'academy of'...... or any other highfalutin name. Now I'm off to get a price on my loose tooth. Bye.

ok as Im in Qld is there any better company better than alinta and click. Paul, douglas and peter.???? I know usage charges are important to me. Click will drop their supply charges from 1..08 to 98 Getting a bit complicated for me

When are you getting power discounts in wa?

For SA this is not a good deal, my everyday account with AGL is $100 a year cheaper. Go to Energy Made Easy you will find a number of suppliers offering better deals. It takes a bit of work but its worth it. I am looking at going with the smaller operators they don't have the overheads of the big companies.

Solar customers are offered a 20% discount on usage and service charges and 19c per KWh exported. Non solar are offered 37%. We pay Click 35.438c per KWh, they pay us 19c and still 17% less discount ????

Peter
Peter from NSW replied to Ken:

That explains why I can't find the 37% discount.

Ken
Ken from NSW replied to Peter:

It is the same offer as one big snitch err switch. Surely they must be aware that there are other companies out there with better offers? Maybe those won't give the backhanders? Read into that what you will.

Richard
Richard from NSW replied to Ken:

50 Up and One Big Switch (OBS) offers are different. OBS offer is 30% off usage ONLY, 50 Up offer is 37% off the total bill. As others have pointed out, Click have increased their usage rate so much that even with 37% off (Click via 50 Up), it's still more expensive, in my case, than 30% off usage ONLY (Alinta via OBS).

Ken
Ken from NSW replied to Richard:

Where I am OBS only offers Click.

Peter
Peter from NSW replied to Ken:

Same as Ken. Alinta don't even get a mention.

Hi Ken this is an issue I am pushing with the State and Federal Government's along with removing the GST. At this stage falling on deaf ears. Once consumers receive their next power bill watch the huh and cry. They will then have to get off their backsides and put in place real decisions instead of tinkering around the edges.

Ken
Ken from NSW commented:

What a scam. FiftyUp should wake up and look at the facts!! Clicks offer of 20% discount on their very very high usage rates is blatantly designed to deceive. Hot water rate DOUBLE my existing! Even with 19c solar I would be paying $123.40 per quarter more with click, almost $500 per year more than I do with Dodo now.

Peter
Peter from NSW replied to Ken:

Yes this is a scam as they offer on one hand and take with the other.

Peter
Peter from NSW commented:

This new offer from Click still has me paying more than double per day what I am paying on my new Origin plan. They have inflated their usage charges so much more than other retailers (90% increase on Controlled Load 1 on 1-7/2017). That is why I left Click after 3 1/2 years.

Interesting how FiftyUp Club "promotes" this amazing discount for energy without providing the actual prices and authenticating the supposed discount and savings compared to other providers. This is highlighted in the comments below from "Roger in NSW". Their link to the offer takes you directly into the procedure to sign up without proper consultation or provision of pricing. They expect you to blindly sign up to "Click" energy without asking questions and receiving relevant information. One suspects they are really only interested in their commission.

This is incorrect. Halfway through the link to Click you can click onto "Rates and more details" before the sign up. It makes very interesting reading. The reason Click can offer 37% is that their usage rates (cents per KWh) are high compared with other suppliers/wholesalers. As Roger said, you need to do your homework so as to be able to compare the different offers. I'm in Sydney where Ausgrid is the supplier and have just applied new rates to my last quarterly electricity bill. Based on my calculations I will save about $50/quarter with One Big Switch (Fair Deal 30 using Alinta) and not 50 Up Club (Big Switch In using Click).
