Best NBN plans from the brands you know and trust
If your house is connected to the NBN you've probably received dozens of pamphlets in your letterbox advertising internet deals from companies you’ve never heard of before. Even after you've connected, the pamphlets keep coming! 
The internet industry see the NBN as a once in a lifetime land grab for new customers. Everyone around the country needs to switch to the new technology, so there is no better time to get your attention and promise you big savings.
The thing is, many of us have been with the same internet service provider for a long time. As many as 40-percent of Aussie homes are connected to Telstra, while Optus and the TPG group have about 20-percent market share each. Most of us are happy with our provider, thank you very much.
But this doesn't mean that you shouldn't shop around for a better deal, even if it is with the names you know.
We've heard lots of stories where the big name providers simply send out a new NBN modem and switch customers over to an NBN service, without having a conversation about the new plans available.
So let's take a look at the best plans from the big internet providers. If you see a deal better than the one you're currently on, you make sure you have them switch you over.
Telstra
Thanks to big pressure from the small telcos, Telstra NBN internet prices are now quite reasonable, if you can do with the bells and whistles, like Foxtel. Many will find that you can get away with paying as little as $70 per month, depending on how often you use the internet.
Optus
Optus NBN plans are fantastically simple to compare. There are basically three options to consider, starting from $60 per month. The basic plan comes with the basic NBN speed, unlimited internet data and a home phone service that you pay for as you use it.
If you step up to the next price bracket, you get a step up in internet speed and a Fetch TV set-top box with a premium channel pack and Optus Sport bundled in. The final price bump takes your internet speed up to the maximum 100Mbps.
TPG
TPG has long been known for two things: great prices and international phone calls. With its NBN plans, TPG adds these two benefits together.
As you compare the plans along the pricing tiers you'll notice that much stays the same, but the home phone calling inclusions ramp up. You can choose 'pay as you go' for these calls, or pay more upfront and have calls included in your package; including calls to overseas countries.
iiNet
Renowned for its excellent customer service, iiNet is a favourite for internet in homes across Australia. Its NBN plans can be cheap and cheerful, but can also include Fetch TV and entertainment options. The plans above offer just a basic NBN speed, but you can choose faster option if you like.
