COVID Jab #4? Why not.

It’s a good feeling. My left arm has a mild ache, and I’m amongst the first of the eligible 7.4 million locals to get the fourth COVID booster jab.

Being eligible does not mean 100% execution, but for my money, anything to reduce the disruption and spread of the mongrel bug, even in my tawdry body, is worthwhile.

I’ve had all the vaccinations as and when they became available. They didn’t stop me from going down with it like a ton of bricks at Easter, but the jabs did reduce the symptoms.

I’m off O/S in August and want to do everything feasible to prevent it from happening again.

So when I heard the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) had recommended the additional protection of the fourth booster for those aged 50-64, I was in, as they say, like Flynn.

How about you? Have you gone with the fourth yet or intend to soon? Or do you feel it’s all over bar the shouting? Or have you not even had the earlier jabs yet, let alone the fourth?

A few clicks to find a local pharmacy (try here for yours), one phone call to secure an earlier time, and I was there, shirt sleeve rolled up for number four. The process was so quick, simple and accessible that I wondered why anyone wouldn’t bother.

I appreciate there are those in rural and remote areas and due to other reasons do not find it so simple, but for most people, most of the time, it is.

However, as we know, there is community complacency, denial and rejection, not just from fringe groups.

The official community sentiment monitor shows concern about the overall COVID-19 situation dropping to its lowest levels this month, dropping significantly from last month (26% very/extremely concerned).

And regardless of the fourth dose, third dose intentions dropped significantly in May: 81% of adult Australians have either already had, or plan to get, a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

But to see it another way through official figures, about 20 million of us over 16 are fully vaccinated, and 14 million have had the third jab.

It leaves 7 million people who haven’t had the third let alone the fourth vaccination. Is this you, and if so, why?

I’m biased, of course. I trust science and medicine and only listen to authorities in their field. It’s a terrible prejudice, but so far, so good. How about you?

I like many others I am unjabbed, caught covid and had a very mild 2 day illness, like a cold. I am 60 years old. I did not have it as I have many questions about who benefits from injecting people with an experimental treatment and no one is prepared to answer those questions. As for "trusting" science, if it requires trust, it is not science, it is religion. Any honest scientist will tell you that scientific progress requires questioning to ensure it is robust, otherwise it is not science at all..

How can a person say that have had all the shots but didn’t stop from getting it and went down but it reduced symptoms …. How do you know that it reduced symptoms?

The government "You need the one dose of vaccine!"... a few months passed and then the government said "Did we say one dose? No! What we really said is you"ll need one dose now and then another dose, so now its two doses!"... a few months pass, and the government said "You only need the two doses, and a booster!" Now the government wants another booster on top of the booster on top of the original single vaccination that somehow became a double vaccination. When will this tyrannical madness stop. I will not be getting any more jabs, they can shove it somewhere else, preferably in their #$@£!

Anti Vaxxers are the real gamblers! Who else but Anti Vaxxers would play Russian Roulette with their life!...lol

I'm sorry to say, but the people who keep lining up, are the ones playing Russian roulette, there have been over 700 sports people die suddenly, worldwide, in a 12 month period from July 21 to June 22, this is unheard of previously.

Frank from NSW commented:

Omg what hysteria you Anti Vaxxers spread! 700 amongst billions plus can guarantee you don't know medical history of even one person who died. Perhaps concentrate on Labor/Greens 43% emission policy by 2030 and shut down of country's coal fired Power Stations as the extreme heat and cold from BLACKOUTS will soon kill people like you or your elderly relatives before any Vaccine.

Someone
Someone from VIC replied to Frank:

This makes me laugh, you are saying we spread hysteria, and yet you are the one getting vaxxed, due to the hysteria and fear mongering from the media, work that out. Now you want to add in the climate debate. You get your vax, I won't, & when my time is up, however that will be, so be it, but there are actually a lot of reasons I choose what I do and don't accept. You can use whatever hate speech you like, I am comfortable about my decision. Good luck Frank.

I find this funny. Like in the story the lady said she has had all her needles, it didn’t stop her from getting Covid and going down like a ton of bricks over Easter but it reduce the symptoms… How the hell can you say that when you have no idea what symptoms you would of had if you were unvaccinated.. Like millions of other’s IM NOT VACCINATED. I got Covid in JAN and got over it within 3 days with just a mild symptoms. I fining that the vaccinated people seem to get sicker than the unvaccinated… Plus there have been thousands of people die from reactions to the vaccine… Why doesn’t the media cover this?

Have had the first two jabs. No intention of having anymore. What’s the point, I believe the science that says mRNA vaccine actually damages our immune system hence so many people continuing to get sick. At this time vaccines apparently have not been updated to manage new strains of the virus so it’s just more of the same that essential do not work.

Someone
Someone from QLD commented:

Have the vaccinations been updated? it are we getting an up to date vaccine now there are new strains ??? I question the boosters

Have not had any Jabs and do not plan on having any. Had Covid in January and was over with in 3 days so I am trusting my own Immune System.
